ABOUT TAYLOR
The emerging Atlanta-based violinist, Taylor Tookes, indulges her musical passions as a performer, recording artist, producer, composer, and educator.
As a versatile artist, Taylor plays in the house band for Beats + Ballads. She recently performed as concertmaster for the Lovett School’s showing of the musical “Something Rotten.”
Taylor’s ability to perform solo and in ensembles including pit and chamber orchestras, and jazz and live bands has brought her to stages such as The Tabernacle, Roulette NYC, Atlanta Symphony Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Her passion for composing, recording and producing has led Taylor to collaborating with artists including Amal Zenab, Michael Bishop, Nana Kwabena, Jordan G. Welch, and Flwr Chyld.
Inspired by the ubiquity of music and its function as a universal language, Taylor uses her artistry to explore life and transform spaces sonically. Taylor’s musical practice combines her affinity for Black music and improvisation with her classical violin studies at the University of Michigan and the Atlanta Symphony Talent Development Program.
